Sarah’s Delight
Beautiful day
girl-child is sleeping
fat, luminous, naked boy-baby
curled around my lap
chubby fists hanging one side
legs, curled in a semi-fetal position, dangling the other
Daddy scrubbed him
skin is pink and glowing
He has huge, brown, cow eyes
eyes that are soft and understanding
if he tilts his head while he sleeps
a deep, throaty snore emerges
he sleeps, he looks like mama
he smiles, he's daddy
his big hand is clutching my sweatshirt
he nurses in and out of sleep
thighs too thick for me to close my hand around
he has finally grown into the enormous belly he was born with
loves raspberries from his sister
strong and robust
but so needy and unsure
I love having two little ones
I nurse and read stories and use glue-sticks
sitting on the playroom floor and watching
the house fall apart
a toddler can do an amazing amount of damage to a well-organized room.

Today and Tomorrow's projects:
-paint the primed heaters in the bathroom
-hang towel bars and towel ring
-frost window ( so people don't have to watch us shower anymore )
-start stripping paint off dressing table
-finish stripping wood panels between living room and my room
-remove rest of paneling from upstairs landing
ok that should about cover it. Um... mom are free this week :-)
Steve says that all that needs to be done for the toilet and sink is to run the water lines and hook it all up. Perhaps be the end of the week it will all be done. I had off work today and tomorrow as well. I am going to try and be productive. But it is had with the rain. All I want to do is crawl in bed with a good book and read and nap all day. So I am not going into the bedroom for the rest of the day if I can help it. Kids are palying quietly and alone. Cameron is working on a board game in the kitchen and Haley is in her room "cleaning". I suppose I'll go fight off the rainy day blues with productivity now.

Well I have the next 2 days off work. Steve and Joel have made lots of progress on the plumbing of the bathroom. Hopefully it will be finished by the end of the week. Not much else is going right now. The kids are both fine. Cameron is going to be retested for the gifted program this week. We had him tested in January and he more than qualified in most areas, but the school psychologist wanted to test him one more time after we got his medication regulated. So we'll see how it goes. Haley wants to cheerlead this coming school year. I suppose we should let her. But it is so difficult with her going away every other weekend. I guess we'll be able to figure something out.
I don't really have a whole lot to say today. I could go on about the Catholic church and the pedifiles they protect. But i don't know that I have the energy to go on about it in a coherent way. So I'll leave that for another day. And on that note I am going to spend time with my family now.

I just got home from work about 30 mins. ago and walked into the biggest surprise! 99% of the plaster is removed and cleaned up from my room. Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve and Joel ROCK !!!! ok so this just brings me one step closer to the decorating issue. oh well. And to top it all off they cooked dinner too!!!! but now they just set off the carbon monoxide detector. Did i mention that they are using the leaf blower/sucker to clean up the blown in insulation. I hope we don't die. Well i guess i should go and see. Wish me luck.

Today I work 5-4 yuck. Steve and Joel are tearing out the plaster in my room. I hope it goes well. Finding a little black box with jewels and money in it would be neat. You never know what they might of hid behind the walls. (Yeah right) hehehe off to work. I have to take Haley with me this morning because Brian is picking her up at work later and Steve couldn't bring her down. I don't think Haley is too happy about the arrangments. Oh well. No other interesting news to report on.

I hope I have recovered from the last 6 working days. I have had off yesterday and today. I have done nothing but lay in bed and veg. I did however manage to read 1/4 of Teaching the Tiger last night. I got a lot of really good ideas on how to make Cameron's life a little easier at home. Cameron and I started a new book. It is called The Bad Begining. It is a series of 6 books called The Unfortunate Events.
I did talk to Cam's dr. this morning, about the fact that he doesn't go to bed till midnight. She said to get him up earlier and give him his Concerta earlier. She didn't seemed too concerned that he only needs 7 hours of sleep. And was happy to hear that his appetite has not been affected by the medicine.
I really wish my room were done. I hate that all of my personal items are spread throughout the house. All of my book are in totes and disorganized. So when the kids ask me about something that I would need to look up I just look at the totes in the living room and say " it's in there somewhere" :-( . Steve and Joel are going to rip out plaster this weekend, supposedly. Joel will be spending the weekend with us. I finially decided what color to paint the stairway and landing walls. Hunting Coat Red. What a lovely color. And I think I'll stain the floor and stairs a deep walnut. Cameron wants his room painted red, white and blue. I still haven't decided on ccolors for my new room yet. I keep going from old world decor to modern/fresh.
Well i suppose I should at least shower today. So I guess I'll go do that. Then maybe I'll feel a little more motivated to do something useful. Oh and by the way Sarah, I finially packed your package! I wrapped Maya's birthday presents (it did seem a little silly though since I am only 3 mths. late). Also I included the clothes for the kids and a few things for you. :-)

Yesterday went very well. I worked from 10am till 10:30pm. Joe and I got serveral things caught up and cleaned up. I finished all of my returned check paperwork and reorganized several of our binders. Steve has been wonderful about the extra time I have needed to put in at work. The overtime I earned this past week means we should be able to go to New York to see a live production of A Prarie Home Compainion in late April. Yeah! Well I have another long work day today and a short work day tomorrow. Then I have off for two days and I can get caught up on cleaning and spending time with the kids. On wednesday we are going to do some crystal growing experiments. Sarah I hope you are feeling better.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Work has very eventful yesterday. Why is it when I am the only one in the comp. room things go on the fritz. Things I wasn't even using. I am starting to worry. We had an assistant manager that was very bad luck. It would never fail that things would go wrong. Here is a list of events that occured only on her shifts. 1. Associate hit the sprinker system above the cash registers, it was winter so we had use our inventory of ice melt because the water started to freeze. 2. We had an electrical storm that hit the telephone pole right behind the building, sparks flew from the main computer switch board and fried the main phone lines. 3. Another storm knockd out the power to the enitre Colonial Park area, once again we were without power and phones. I hope I am not building up to these things.
Anyway I do have lots more to say but I have run out of time. Gotta get ready for work and stuff. I write more later tonight when I get home :-) .

ok so it is 4:30 in the morning and i can't sleep. i have worked 5 morning shifts out of six in the past six days, so i am use to waking a 3:oo yuck. Also my right hand is numb. i guess i slept on it. sorry i haven't updated for a few days. work has been killer. i worked from 5 am till 5:30 pm yesterday. i couldn't get my work done. either someones computer bugged out or their printers were having issues, it just seemed to never end. everytime i would get back to the vault, someone would need something. from start to finish the vault takes about 6 hours. with 2 people it takes about 3 hours. joe called me at 1 pm. to see how i was because i was alone yesterday, and mondays are the worst day to be alone. anyway i told him i just finished counting one deposit and then i was going to get started ( 6 hrs of work from this point) he said he was going house shopping and would call me later. needless to say people kept calling, i had to keep leaving the vault ahhhhhhhhhh. an hour later joe shows up yeahhhhhhh!!! it took us 4 hours to get done. we continued to have interruptions.. i don't mind going and helping everyone, but they don't realize that there isn't anyone that i can ask to come help me. except for joe, and it was his day off. ok i think i have said enough about work..
today i hope to finish the bathroom floor. i have off for the next 2 days ( so happy ) steve should be home very soon. i think i will go back to bed with him. i am getting a little sleepy now.
the kids have been very good this weekend. they had off school fri. and mon. cam is doing a little better with sleeping. we are trying for a more strict bedtime routine. it seems to be working. haley is well as always. i am going to get some film developed today so maybe i will post some pics if i can figure it out. ( or i'll call Sarah to help me :-) )

Thought of the Day:
"Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are."
-Anthelme Brillatsavarin "Phsiologie du gout " (1825)
We are having a weight loss contest at work. We are divided up into teams of 5 and the winners will have the top percentge of weight loss. I was weighed in yesterday and was sad. I have gained 15 lbs. since moving to the computer room in July. No wonder nothing fits :(. So today I start my high fiber low calorie (1100) new way of eating for a healthy body. Notice I did not say the D word. This must be a change of life for me. I will try very hard to avoid my weakness foods and be more concerned about what goes into my body. On that note it is time for yogurt. Yummy I really like Bryers lite yogurt. 120 cals. no fat 16 grams of sugar and it comes in strawberry cheesecake ;P.

too busy to think today. Have to drive to town (1 hr.) just to sign new home owners ins. papers. Bonus though Steve and I get to go out for lunch. Cameron slept with me last night. That was ok, however it wasn't ok to sneak in the bag of chocolate chips. Can you say big mess. All over the blankets, pillows and smushed between the waterbed mattress and frame. He said he would help clean it up.
Oh well what are you going to do. They're are just to cute :-)

Thought of the Day :
"The object of psychology is to give us a totally different idea of the things we know best."

I will try to continue to post daily but our server is having issues. They just sent us a letter saying they are applying $50.00 to our account, because of poor service. I have been having a very hard time getting connected.
Beyond that Steve and I are trying to be very productive on the house. Projects are moving right along. I actually have some tile in the bathroom. Steve worked on the plumbing and we moved the upstairs sink and toilet. We hope to have everything hooked up by next monday. After tomorrow I won't have off work till then.
Yes Sarah, to make it worse I wore the little leotard with the skirt. Had a shiny jacket with a roller skate on the back and could skate backwards around the rink all day. I went every Saturday for who knows how long. hehehe
Well Cameron is mining for rocks and gems in the backyard. He got a lib. book about it and has been fascinated with the topic for weeks now. He is outside with the book so he can identify anything he finds. What an amazing little mind he has.
Haley had a 50's day at school. She looked very cute. She wore jean capris, one of my short sleeved collared shirts (bright pink), her hair in a high ponetail which we curled first and little denim sneakers. She said the teachers all dressed up and a lot of students also.
I hope to scan pictures soon. I have already taken 1 1/2 ross of film. I should get back to cleaning and what not.

Tho ught of the Day :
“A woman’s guess is, much more accurate than a man’s certainty.”
-Rudyard Kipling “ Three and - an Extra” Plain tales from the Hills (1888)
So when was the last time you went roller-skating??? I only fell twice. Steve dove over Cameron once. Haley did ok but she couldn’t figure out how to stop. It was pretty neat meeting Haley’s friends. They all seemed very nice. Each of their personalities complimented one another. I certainly can see why they are all friends.
After the no breakfast events of this morning, my good day continued. I dropped my towel into the tub after my shower and it got very wet. My computer and printer at work were showing signs of going on strike today. But fortunately I managed to keep them happy enough to get through the work. After all of that the day seemed to perk up a bit. I just tried to keep a positive mood and it worked.
The party was a success! Perhaps we will do this again.

Well I woke up a ½ hour before my alarm was to go off. So I thought I would get some breakfast and do a little post. Hahaha their was no milk for my corn flakes. Then I thought well I’ll have oatmeal. But there wasn’t any oatmeal. And I already knew that we are out of bread too. I hope this isn’t an indication of how my day is going to go. I worked yesterday and then slept when I got home. Thursday Steve and I did more on the house. We should hopefully have a toilet upstairs by early next week. Then we can get the floor done at the end of the week.
Our little Metro is having serious issues. It has decided that we don’t need heat. Which is kind of a problem when Steve is coming home at 4 am. And it is 15 degrees out. I swear the car troubles never seem to end. Thank goodness Steve can do all the repair work and it doesn’t cost as much as the garage.
Today is work from 5 –11am. Then back home then off to roller skating! I suppose I should try to find something to eat and get ready for work.
Sarah when one of us wins the lottery we will take that dream vacation! You, me and Becca. We’ll have breakfast at a café in Paris. Lunch in Rome. Dinner in Greece. And visit the castles in Scottland.
